The Native American community made their voices known. They desire to reconnect the native Illini tribe to Fighting Illini Athletics. Thank you for hearing their collective voices.
This impressive show of support comes from current and former tribal Chiefs, Second Chiefs, Council members, and enrolled members from multiple tribal nations including all 15 tribes listed for preference relative to the U of I Heritage Scholarship.
Additionally, Native American Guardian's Association has a database of nearly 600 supporters representing tribal nations throughout the country.
